Battle For Higher Education

From media to the products that they purchase, Hip Hop has become a major part of most students’ life today. This lifestyle is often presented as fancy wheels, baggy clothes, Crime, drugs and violence, however one thing that hip hop has not promoted is EDUCATION.  The Battle for Higher Education event is designed to highlight this integral part of our young adults’ lives. We want to demonstrate that having this type of talent can be rewarding and exciting but a focus on ones’ future through education is essential for success.  The Battle for Higher Education event is designed to award high school students for their talent while generating interest in their EDUCATION.

HOW TO ENTER

The first criteria to participate in this competition the contestant will audition.  Secondly, they must have attained a C average or higher and must maintain this average throughout the competition.

After all participants have been chosen, they will battle it out in the form of freestyle hip hop. The event will be showcased at different colleges across the country.  By showcasing the event at a college, we will be able to allow each student the opportunity to tour the campus, view the different opportunities the school provides as well as show them why higher education is important.

CONTEST FORMAT

We will begin with Midwest.  The event will be held in 12 major cities and in each city there will be one winner and four (4) runner-ups. The winner in each city will receive $2500 in prizes (such as Laptop, School Supplies and more). The winner’s high school will also receive a $2500 donation.

Once we have our winners and runner ups we will have the final contest, “Battle for Higher Education” Hip Hop Extravaganza. There each contestant will battle out for the chance to win a $25,000 College Scholarship.

This event reaches out to those who embrace the hip hop world and refocuses their energy on the value of school work. By providing the opportunity to do something positive with their talent, they are also provided with an opportunity for more positive future.
